Parlay was in full bloom during our August event at Natalie Bowen‘s design Studio.
We were greeted by Natalie and her staff holding dahlias in three different shades which were to become wearable art with straight pins or hair pins. Once properly attired, we walked through her gorgeous space to courtyard which was filled with tasty treats and wine. The outdoor tables were beautifully draped with white linen, and featured glass vases and seemingly unlimited flowers running down the center. Each vase had a paper with two color combinations and a few words that described flower colors and their meanings.
Natalie began class by telling us what the most requested flower colors are, then proceeded to instruct us on the basics of flower arranging. We were then let loose to choose flowers, greens and filler and create beautiful arrangements that we showed off later and took home. A few of the group’s creations are below.
