We gathered to hear how Carin Luna-Ostaseski came to love whisky. Spoiler alert for those who missed the event: it was through a breakup. When her relationship ended, she found herself at her local whisky shop every Friday after work, choosing to spend her “couples-counseling money” on a few really nice bottles of scotch whisky instead.
Carin became a student of whisky and hosted tasting events for a number of years. But the more she learned, the more she realized that there was a gap in the market: a product that not only tasted great, but was financially approachable by all. So Carin went on to become the first American woman to create her own scotch whiskey. She calls it SIA.
