Is college still a path to the American Dream? While there are 1.2 million low-income or first-generation college graduates each year, only one in four will receive a strong first job.
This week, we hope you will join us as we take a walk with two women of color who made it, hearing about their journeys and shedding light on their paths. They’ll be joined by Aimée Eubanks Davis, founder of Braven, an exceptional organization that empowers promising underrepresented young people to launch successfully into the modern economy. Both of our panelists are Braven Fellows.
Out of respect for our speakers and to help relieve the burden to educate us on their lived experience, we ask the that you please read / watch the following before the event:
- The Next Generation of Leaders: Crystal’s Braven Story (Video)
- The Stark Racial Inequity of Personal Finances in America | New York Times
- How to Help Low-Income Students Hold Their Own on the Job Market | Goldie Blumenstyk, Chronicle of Higher Education
We welcome you, your friends and loved ones to join this important conversation.
We can’t wait to learn together.
