“If you think you’re enlightened, go spend a week with your family.” – Ram Dass, a spiritual teacher.

The final month of 2022 can present certain challenges when it comes to time spent with loved ones – even for the most meditated minds. To help us prepare, we are getting together with Bex Urban – mindfulness, pilates, and yoga expert. Together we will use yoga movement and meditation as tools for self resourcing from within and for creating our own boundaries and clarity.

Let us engage with movement around the holidays, find our balance, and make time for ourselves during a month of activity and community get-togethers with our loved ones, all while reflecting on the end of 2022.

There is no right or wrong way to meditate or practice mindfulness, so give yourself the gift of an hour spent intentionally, connected, and loved.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER

Rebecca Urban, known in yoga circles as “Bex,” has led yoga and Pilates classes since 2000. Certified through the Yoga Alliance and PMA, Bex’s approach focuses on bringing awareness to our breath as the essential link between mind, body, and movement. She emphasizes finding center, balancing the body from the inside out, and using the physical practice to forge a larger spiritual connection. Her positive energy inspires everyone she works with to show up, release, and build strength.

Bex leads classes with enthusiasm, warmth, and a gentle sense of humor. Her students attest to her authentic ability to bring them into the moment, and guide them to a place of focus and greater self-acceptance. She weaves sequences that are safe, creative, challenging and filled with reverence. Bex invites students to set their own intentions, making the practice uniquely their own. She brings spirit, love, and openness to her teaching with the ultimate goal of inspiring a devotion to movement and yoga and its many benefits in all her students.

Bex has had the honor of studying with many senior yogis and her teaching style is strongly influenced by Erich Schiffmann, Sri Dharma Mittra and the precise alignment of Iyengar yoga. She lives in Marin and teaches classes throughout the Bay Area and online at Yoga Anytime. Bex leads retreats and workshops and offers sessions in a private studio for movement therapy.
