So many women in Miami have full lives — careers, families, and a never-ending list of responsibilities. And yet something still feels missing.

It can be surprisingly hard to make new friendships as an adult. Hard to find a space where you can be yourself, without titles, expectations, or small talk.

Parlay House was created for exactly this reason.

WHAT IT'S LIKE

Living rooms, long tables, real talk in Miami.

Parlay House gatherings in Mimai are hosted in members’ homes and small venues, creating an atmosphere that feels warm, relaxed, and real.

Each gathering features a speaker, topic, or guided conversation, followed by time to connect with other women.

You don’t need to know anyone to come. Most women arrive alone. Many leave with friends they’ve been looking for for years.

Women come to Parlay House in Miami for all kinds of reasons: a new city, a life transition, a quiet wish for more depth. Some have plenty of friends but want real community. Some just want a room full of women who get it.

Most of our members in Mimai are in their late 30s to 60s: curious, thoughtful, and done with small talk.

Why I became a Parlay House instigator:
I became a member of Parlay House when I had moved from New York to San Francisco. It was an important part of my transition to my new city. I immediately connected to what Anne had built and the warm and inviting environment that she had created. When my husband and I decided to move to Miami, I wanted to bring this community with me and asked Anne if she would be open to it. Starting the Miami Chapter was the perfect way for me to open doors and meet amazing women in Miami. I wanted to carry forward what Anne provided me, to others. I am grateful to be able to host these events with my friend and partner in Parlay, Stacie Gray.
What I love outside of work:
I am a culture vulture. I love film, TV, theater, art and music.
My favorite book or movie right now:
Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy. It is a layered story about grief, nature and survival against all odds.
Why women's community matters to me:
Women need to know they are not alone, both in good times and bad. The more opportunities we have for real connection and authentic sharing, the more confident we become in who we truly are. There is strength in sharing. Women's lives can be extremely complicated and busy. Parlay House provides a little luxury - a moment for us, a moment to just belong.

Why I became a Parlay House instigator:
Being fairly new to Miami, I wanted a way to meet people and connect over shared interests. I have many passions and interests that I love to share with others.
What I love outside of work:
I love tennis and racket sports. Cooking. Visiting galleries and museums. Gardens and nature.
My favorite book or movie right now:
I just read "Theo of Golden". It's a heartwarming story about creating authentic connections with people in your world.
Why women's community matters to me:
You learn so much from one another and feel understood and supported. And we have fun and laugh a lot!
