Introverted? Been there – it’s truly okay.

A flaming extrovert? Yup – some people are like that …. but maybe this was not always the case?

We all know making friends is important. Friends of all types – from new friends at work to that dear old friend from kindergarten – give us confidence and unconditional love and community. Social scientists, neuroscientists and our own physicians tell us that relationships are the essence of not just living well but of well-being as we go through life. But what do friendships look like at various stages of life, and how do we cultivate, fortify, and sustain them – or decide it is time to let go and find new friends – and then… where do we find them? What inhibits our capacity to take a step toward connection?

DC Parlay House Instigator Barbara Garlock – NOT in any way a psychologist or scholar, but someone who has gone from introvert to a real “connector” in the course of her adult life – will humbly start off our conversation and share her musings on her own skills at connecting and what she has learned for herself. How to (as a Girl Scout might hum) “make new friends but keep the old.”

Come share your thoughts and experiences. And as always, we will have time to schmooze, have a light dinner and drinks, and just be ourselves.

  • When: THURSDAY MAY 4th, 6:30 – 8:30 PM
  • Dinner first – program will kick off soon after 7:00PM
  • Where: Barbara’s Home

ABOUT PARLAY HOUSE DC

  • Won’t you join us again – or for the first time – as we continue these conversations?
  • Can’t make it this time?? Please forward this invitation to a friend who might be interested
  • Interested in helping brainstorm topics and know some great speakers and facilitators? Please be in touch at dc@parlayhouse.com

We will share the specific address the week of the event. Please note that this event takes place in a personal home – arrival time and end time are lovingly set to respect our host’s boundaries <3
